It’s been a very good week for Bayern Munich loanee Stanišić after he struck an added-time equaliser against Roma to save Leverkusen’s unbeaten record in Thursday’s UEFA Europa League semi-final second leg. His next goal on Sunday wasn’t as important but was Die Werkself’s fourth as they thrashed Bochum 5-0 to make it 50 without defeat this season. He also set up Alejandro Grimaldo for the fifth, meaning it was the Croatia international’s first Bundesliga assist and first time he’d contributed two goals in a Bundesliga game.

Lee enjoyed perhaps his best game in a Mainz shirt as he helped pick apart UEFA Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund with a clinical first-half display. The South Korean scored twice for his third Bundesliga brace, as well as leading the match for shots (four) and passes to a shot (three) in the 3-0 win that sets the 05ers up for a huge final day in their bid to stay up.

Just days before Julian Nagelsmann names his squad for UEFA Euro 2024, Beier provided the Germany boss with a welcome reminder of his credentials by bagging a brace in Hoffenheim’s 6-0 win at relegated Darmstadt. Only Deniz Undav has more than the 21-year-old’s 15 Bundesliga goals this season among players eligible for this summer’s hosts, while the striker is also the first German to reach that total in a top-flight campaign for the Sinsheim club.
